wasting time in the early morn

I've been fighting off one of the worst colds ever. I'm on the mend now for sure but its got my sleep cycle all messed up. I've been sitting at the computer for a few hours now and its only 4:30 am! I slept from about 6:00 pm to 2:00am. Good times. Maybe this can kickstart a period of getting up early. I could use one of those. Of course I should be writing the diss now but... tomorrow.

Last weekend I went snowboarding. Third time ever. Wolf Creek. It was phenomenal. My friend Wooky took some photos and video and I really hope to be able to post some as proof. Once I quit falling down every couple seconds it was some of the most fun I've ever had. I had a couple of runs where I was really carving and doing some fast S-turns 'n stuff. Way better than the last time I'd gone. It was so much fun it makes me wonder why I ever did anything else. Did I mention it was fun?

Ice Cube is back: Gangster rap made me do it

This also came to my attention via pitchfork.
Never mind that some of the rhymes are kinda weak. Its just good to see Ice Cube rapping with some heart and making a statement. Overall it carries well on the chord-hitting level...



Postscript: crap. I guess something messed up during the upload. The sound and video are way out of sync. Maybe I'll just post links to youtube from now on...

The Wire: Best show ever: yes very likely: yes, that's three colons

lets pretend it hasn't been 5 months since i posted anything here. Clearly what has happened is that all my blogger energy has gone into the human macroecology site, which I started about the same time as this one and so that created some ambiguity as to what sorts of things to blog about on what site and the like.
so this one will now be like pop culture and random stuff.
So anyway - The Wire is probably the best show ever. and you know its good when it comes out in a record review of a soundtrack that is not so good. but reading this post from pitchfork shows what an awesome show the wire is.
